Tony Prentice has been named chief commercial officer for News Australia - Sales

NEWS Limited has combined its three in-house sales teams into one to form News Australia – Sales.

The company’s national metro masthead sales team, Newsnet, the News Inserted Magazines’ sales team and News Digital Media’s sales team will come together under the leadership of Tony Prentice.

Mr Prentice, currently commercial director of News Digital Media, will be chief commercial officer of the integrated sales team when it launches in March.

In a statement, News Ltd’s director of sales Tony Kendall said News Australia – Sales will offer “audience-led solutions across print, online, tablet and mobile and will have a single point of contact to reach the depth and breadth of our mass audience”.

“In addition we are making a substantial investment in insights, research and strategy to equip our sales professionals with the ability to help our customers meet their demands in this challenging market,” he said.

In his new role, Mr Prentice will control all facets of News Australia – Sales, including its structure, strategy, management and performance. He will report to News Ltd’s deputy director of sales Fiorella Di Santo.
