Wayne Buttner will leave News Limited after 31 years

THREE managers have joined the casualties of News Limited’s streamlining restructure.

The managing director of The Gold Coast Bulletin, Sylvia Bradshaw, general manager of The Geelong Advertiser, Wayne Buttner, and general manager of Quest Newspapers, Mark Elgood, will leave the company at the end of July.

Ms Bradshaw had been with News Ltd since 1993 in roles including marketing director at South China Morning Post, advertising director at Sunday Magazine, and general manager of Leader Newspapers.

Mr Buttner had been with the company 31 years in roles including editor-in-chief at Leader Newspapers, and general manager at Community Newspapers.

Mr Elgood’s 30 year career at News Ltd includes advertising director at The Australian, and managing director of News Community Media.

“They have all enjoyed fine careers with News Limited which will be appropriately celebrated at functions prior to their departure,” said group newspaper and digital products managing director, Jerry Harris.
