Peter Hunt new APN chairman

Peter Hunt is the new chairman of APN News & Media

APN News & Media has announced the appointment Peter Hunt as chairman, following the resignation of Gavin O’Reilly.

Mr Hunt is a founder of corporate advisory firm Greenhill Caliburn and has almost 30 years experience advising governments and major companies, including Telstra and Westpac.

Deputy chairman Ted Harris said APN would benefit from Mr Hunt’s extensive experience in board leadership as the company enters its next phase of growth.

Mr O’Reilly, the former chief executive of Ireland-based Independent News & Media, resigned in April amid shareholder tensions. His resignation ended four decades of APN control by the O’Reilly family which has a 29.5 per cent stake in the company.
