TRINITY Mirror is going to merge editorial staff at the Manchester Evening News and 22 sister weekly titles, according to The Guardian.
The move aims to create a single editorial team, with teams of reporters assigned to specific geographic areas and producing multimedia content for all titles.
The restructure could cost up to ten jobs, but Trinity Mirror said it "hoped the final number would be lower than that".
This will also mean there will be an added emphasis on multimedia content, with a new multimedia training programme, and new roles for overseeing and encouraging user-generated content.
